Permanent Downhole Monitoring

Installing Permanent Downhole Monitering Equipment How-To Video

Permanent downhole monitoring or PDM uses temperature and pressure monitoring systems attached to the well casing to provide continuous real-time information for an oil and gas reservoir or CO2 storage zone.

This 20-minute technical video provides the basics of casing-conveyed PDM systems and describes the unique field installation practices that these systems require. The video features an example from a CO2 enhanced oil recovery project in the Denbury Resources-operated Bell Creek oil field in southeastern Montana.
