The EERC Foundation® is an independent, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization based in North Dakota. Its mission is to support scientific research and development at the EERC, helping to transform cutting-edge research into real-world solutions that benefit the public, industry, and government.
The EERC Foundation, which primarily operates under the brand name EERC Services®, supports the development and deployment of innovative technologies and solutions that address real-world challenges.
Wholly Owned Entities
The EERC Foundation is the sole owner of two affiliated entities that help execute and expand its mission:

Heartland Hydrogen Hub, LLC (Heartland) is a limited liability company organized in 2023 under the laws of the state of North Dakota for the special purpose of serving as the Prime Recipient under a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Department of Energy to carry out the Heartland Hydrogen Hub Project. Heartland’s sole member is the EERC Foundation.

EERC Enterprise Solutions℠ (EES) is a for-profit corporation organized in 2023 under the laws of the state of North Dakota. EES is an entity formed for the purpose of managing contractual relationships involving for-profit activities.
