The EERC is looking for a Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry Scientist whose primary focus is to work in strong collaboration with EERC subject matter experts, principal investigators, and EERC leadership to conduct laboratory analyses and experiments and interpret laboratory data to support research activities related to improved production of unconventional oil and gas reservoirs, enhanced oil recovery (EOR) in unconventional and conventional formations and fuels analysis; work as part of a diverse, multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to ensure that laboratory work is successfully completed on time, on budget, and within client expectations; perform analytical research focused on chemical and geochemical evaluation of water, oil, rocks and other natural and man-made materials; ensure that laboratory data and results are of excellent quality and integrated with the theoretical, modeling, and field components of related EERC research efforts; adhere to laboratory safety protocols and assist in regular review and updating of laboratory safety plans; work closely with senior staff, project managers, and laboratory staff to develop and expand the research-based efforts occurring in the laboratories; set up equipment and instrumentation to allow for chemical and geochemical analysis of oil and rock samples; and provide technical assistance on projects related to CO2 EOR, CO2 storage, unconventional hydrocarbon recovery, natural resource management, biofuels development, critical resource characterization and recovery, geologic and synthetic materials characterization, and the environmental aspects of energy development.
The EERC is looking for a Reservoir Engineer whose primary focus is to evaluate and interpret geoscience and engineering data using advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to better inform unconventional oil and gas development, enhanced oil recovery (EOR), and subsurface CO2 or rich gas storage; integrate machine learning, visualization, and artificial intelligence into existing workflows for the upstream oil and gas applications; proactively find opportunities for applying advanced data analytics within the organization by collaborating with different geoscience and engineering teams across multiple projects; incorporate advanced data analytics into software solutions to drive speed and scale; build internal awareness (within the organization) of data mining/advanced analytics capabilities to elevate the knowledge of these techniques across the EERC geoscience and engineering teams and constructively work with other groups at the center; suggest, assist with, and prepare proposals to potential clients; manage client tasks and projects; and report results to clients.
The EERC is looking for a Research Engineer whose primary focus is to conduct technical work in support of energy and environment-related projects; assist in concept development and proposal preparation for new projects; manage and execute tasks on multidisciplinary projects; work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate activities in written and oral forms; evaluate coal conversion, renewable energy, and other chemical processes; suggest, assist with, and prepare proposals to potential clients, manage client tasks and projects; potentially supervise other engineers and students; and report results to clients in written and oral form.

The EERC is looking for a Geoscientist whose primary focus is developing and overseeing the development of geophysical models of the subsurface; performing regional geological characterization; assisting in the preparation of technical proposals, reports, and presentations; and interfacing with a diverse team of scientists and engineers to assess project uncertainties in oil and gas development and geologic CO2 storage.
The EERC is looking for a Research Engineer whose primary focus is designing, modeling, and hands-on fabricating of experimental equipment and overseeing or operating that equipment; helping to prepare research proposals, interpreting data, writing reports and papers, presenting project results to clients, and presenting papers at national and international conferences; conducting technical work in support of energy and environment-related projects; assisting in concept development and proposal preparation for new projects; managing and executing tasks on multidisciplinary projects; working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and communicating activities in written and oral forms; evaluating coal conversion, renewable energy and other chemical processes; suggesting, assisting with, and preparing proposals to potential clients, managing client tasks and projects; and reporting results to clients in written and oral form.
The EERC is looking for a Senior Operations Specialist whose primary focus is to develop and advise EERC project teams and stakeholders on well design, logging and completion procedures to meet client and regulatory requirements; analyze reservoir stimulation, injection, and production performance; facilitate the implementation of leading-edge concepts, technologies, operational strategies, and data applications that improve the performance of CO2 EOR projects, CO2 storage projects, and unconventional hydrocarbon recovery projects; stay current with new technologies and practices in area of expertise; interface with a diverse team of scientist and engineers to assess project uncertainties in oil and gas development and geologic CO2 storage; assist project managers to ensure work is successfully completed on time, on budget, and within client expectations; prepare proposals, technical reports, presentations, conference papers, peer-reviewed journal articles, and outreach materials; communicate technical results to clients, stakeholders, the public, and the scientific community; adhere to and promote EERC core values, mission statement, policies, standard operating practices, and culture; communicate project process, progress, and knowledge sharing effectively and professionally with stakeholders, including participating or leading tangible meetings, web meetings, conference calls, presentations, and conferences; and supervise and mentor junior oilfield operations specialists.
The EERC is looking for an Oilfield Operations Specialist whose primary focus is to develop and advise EERC project teams and stakeholders on well logging and completion procedures as well as reservoir stimulation designs to meet client and regulatory requirements; stay current with new completions, reservoir surveillance, and reservoir stimulation technologies and practices; adapt and integrate those leading-edge concepts, technologies, operational strategies, and data applications to improve the performance of CO2 EOR projects, CO2 storage projects, and unconventional hydrocarbon recovery projects; assist with developing surface infrastructure and operating procedures compatible with CO2 EOR, CO2 storage, and other challenging IOR environments; prepare project task specific budgets for EERC projects; assist project managers to ensure work is successfully completed on time, on budget, and within client expectations; prepare briefings, technical reports, conference papers, peer-reviewed journal articles, outreach materials; and communicate technical results to clients, stakeholder, the public and the scientific community.
The EERC is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate whose primary focus is to develop suites of advanced real-time control algorithms for smart charging of electric vehicles (EVs); design, develop, and test agent-based control systems for management of EV charging under multiple smart charging scenarios; work with research engineers and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary R&D teams, including researchers within and outside of the EERC; prepare technical reports, journal articles, and conference articles; deliver presentations regarding research findings; and develop proposals and secure funding for research projects.
