Atlas Agro Project
About Atlas Agro
Atlas Agro is committed to leading the global shift to low carbon fertilizer production, focusing on integrating renewable energy into nitrogen fertilizer production. Atlas Agro’s Heartland Green Fertilizer (HGF) project plays a key role in the Heartland Hydrogen Hub and will be among the world’s first facilities to produce green hydrogen through electrolysis to create ammonia, which will be converted into a variety of fertilizer products. This process supports the agriculture industry while reducing emissions, onshoring American manufacturing, creating jobs, securing the food supply and stabilizing food and farming supply chains.
The Project
Atlas Agro’s HGF project involves hydrogen production using electrolysis, with a capacity of up to 115 metric tons per day. The ammonia produced will be converted to nitric acid, then ammonium nitrate, then finally used to make nitrogen fertilizer products for agricultural use. Site selection is underway in North Dakota.
Atlas Agro's Commitment
Atlas Agro is committed to fostering a strong, highly skilled workforce by offering job training and development opportunities, including apprenticeships and registered programs. These efforts will ensure the sustainable growth of local communities and contribute to the economic vitality of the region, aligned with their goal to reduce emissions and promote sustainable agricultural practices.
